Introduction
Welcome to Ornate Ritual - a journal of my assorted musings. I like to rant and rave about games, mangas, hunks and idiots.
A bit about myself. I consider myself average in most ways - not particularly bright, but not quite a total write-off either. I am usually not social, but when there is a topic to talk about I can be somewhat vocal. I especially enjoy reading non-fiction. I can spend hours on Wikipedia when I found an interesting topic. Dictionary.com is also good for some light reading. I do enjoy fiction too, especially when there are imagery in the story-telling, as the artistic side of me is more visual. I guess that is why I like manga more than novel. Note that I did not use the word "comic" on purpose. I do not read western comics. Somehow neither the story nor the art style appeals to me. I guess I am an ardent Asian. I do speak a few languages - Chinese, English and Japanese. My first language is Cantonese. I like learning new languages. It is particularly interesting how a culture unfolds itself through its language to an outsider. The way the people behave, their preferences, and their identities are all reflected in the language they share. Learning how others live also allowed me to know more about myself. I find it beneficial to take a step back and challenge some of my own beliefs from time to time. I hope I am improving.
I write this journal to chronicle the journey. It might not be the most interesting read, nor informative to any extent, but this is my little universe.
